You have choices, but some people don’t want you to know about them. The “Official Portrait Studio” Has A Contract To Photograph You!

Something never shared with seniors or their parents is the fact that most senior portraits are created by only a handful of large corporations. These corporations own franchised studios that contract with the schools and proceed to photograph the senior class, as well as the lower grades. These large chains are all about mass produced, assembly line photography. You have seen it lots of times…think “School Picture Day”. The “photographers” generally have little or no professional photographic training and are taught how to “click” the camera and a few standard poses as well. These are the folks that are creating the images that your friends and family will have not only years to come, but for decades to come!

You Can Choose Who You Want To Take Your Senior Pictures

You DO NOT have to go to the “official yearbook photographer”  for the portraits & wallets for your friends & family! This is a myth that the corporations that own such studios have created in order to get more of your money out of your pocket and into theirs! You are allowed to go to whomever you wish for senior portraits. Walsh Photographic Design, located right here in Park City, would really like to be your senior photographer! When you go to the “official yearbook photographer” you get to drive all the way to Sandy to have your images made. Count on seeing a few classmates there…your entire class of 300+ is probably scheduled in a 1 or 2 day period. Do the math…you’re just one of thousands rushing through.

They are happy to have you pose in a way that keeps their “photographic assembly line” running smoothly. They only have a few “Saleable Poses”…which equates to the “most efficient” and “most profitable” poses that the corporation has deemed worth their time to have you pose. If that’s all you want, that’s ok, but if you want something more, read on.

When you come to Walsh Photographic Design you have lots of choices! We listen to you (and your parents) and help you choose the photo shoot styles which will work the best for you. The time scheduled for your photo shoots is your time only!  You get our undivided attention. All of your photographs are taken by Dennis or Randy, just as they have been for years.

Your session is about you and your look. Choose from sessions on our beautiful grounds, in the mountains, at the barn, down on Main Street (its awesome for photos), or in our state of the art studio. Most everyone chooses 2 or 3 different photo shoot styles.

Every image we create is unique. No assembly line here! Different backgrounds, unique creative looks. If you want a pose you’ve seen in a magazine, bring it! We strive to be the exact opposite of the “contract photographer”. You’ll get quality photography, personal time, fantastic locations, and unique images. Only the Corporation Studio Can Do Your Yearbook Photo

The “official yearbook photographer” does require you to be photographed by them for the yearbook, BUT ONLY FOR THAT! You should not have to pay for your yearbook photo. You do not have to choose an additional “sitting plan”. You do not have to go to Sandy either! You can get your yearbook photo taken at registration…and have the pictures you really want taken right here in Park City, by Walsh Photographic Design.

While privately owned studios like Walsh Photographic Design cannot do your yearbook photo, we can create great images which capture the real you, in your own environment, with the look you want. When you get down to it, business is really all about relationships. That is so true in a photography studio. Our clients permit us to work closely with them. It takes a certain level of comfort and trust on the part of the client to allow us into “their world”. Receiving this lovely gift reminded me of how much our client relationships mean to me. Walsh Photographic Design has been fortunate to photograph high school seniors for some time. We love it! Having the opportunity to meet and photograph so many of our high school seniors is really amazing. We have made so many friends…and we look forward to making many more.

Needless to say, Pepper’s Mom was right…Pepper brought a friend to her photo shoot and together they had me busting at the seams.  Then we started the shoot!

As we were getting finished, Pepper asked if I could photograph her with her dogs.  It is always an interesting time trying to get those animals to smile as well.

I absolutely love how her senior photos turned out and can’t wait to take some more of her this summer when the wild flowers are out in Park City.
